Dulcimer Players New is a quarterly print magazine started by Phillip Mason in 1975, after the folk music revival of the 1950s and 1960s and subsequent boom in popularity of hammered and Appalachian dulcimers. In pre-internet days, the magazine connected like-minded musicians around the world.
The magazine has changed hands several times since 1975, growing from a black and white newsletter to a full-page, full-color magazine. The mission remains the same: to preserve and celebrate dulcimers – the instruments themselves, the music they make, and the fellowship they encourage.
